SHAVING IT ALL IN NOVEMBER

I love to do the opposite of what is “normal.” I mean, isn’t that what the Lord has called us to do? LOL!
Instead of No-Shave November, I’m shaking it up. We’re shaving it all. But I don’t mean hair.

Mama. Motherhood is a blessing. You shouldn’t feel as if your life is in shambles and like you’re ALWAYS stressed out. That is NOT what He created you for. Momming is your #1 ministry, and I believe you can do that with grace-AND peace.

So for November, we’re shaving off the stress. All calls you get scheduled with me during November are only $27. Also shaving off the price! You can’t even take your family to eat at the Lord’s Chicken (that’s Chick-fil-A for those of you heathens who don’t know. šŸ˜› ) for that cheap.

Family dynamics can be tough around the holidays. Let’s get CLEAR on what peace looks like and how YOU can achieve that in your home. When you are at peace within your household, all the other stresses in life just don’t hit you near as hard. Like the wild relative that’s always causing issues at holiday dinners.

Shaving stress. Shaving the price. What more can you ask for?

Bitter…Sweet?

Have you ever read the book of Ruth? If not, go check it out in the Old Testament. There are so many lessons learned in this book and it’s one of my favorite stories. Today’s verse of the day was Ruth 1:16  “But Ruth replied, ā€œDon’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. ”

As soon as I read that verse, I saw something “new” that I haven’t thought of before. Not only is Ruth an amazing role model for us, Ruth was a huge support person for Naomi. Naomi and Ruth had been through so much. Naomi was OVER IT; she even told everyone to call her Mara (bitter) instead of Naomi (sweet). I’d say she was DONE, wouldn’t you?!

Have you been to driven to that point? How many times have you been in a similar mental state; where anything and everything that could go wrong HAS?! Naomi had lost everything: her home, her husband and her children. Any woman’s worst nightmare was poor Naomi’s reality. Yet, Ruth’s love and support never wavered. She never gave up on Bitter Naomi.

I know in my life, I’ve chosen to be Bitter rather than Sweet. I can pinpoint the years I was so focused on the bad that I couldn’t see anything good.

The enemy loves to steal, kill and destroy. One of his favorite tools to use is lies. He lies to us all the time. During my lowest points, I listened mostly to his lies. I needed a Ruth to throw me a life ring and reel me back in. I ask you this…who have been the Ruth’s in your life at those hard moments? Tag your ā€œRuthā€ below and share this post with her. Tell her how much of an amazing support person she has been for you.

We weren’t meant to do this life without support! We need others to stand firm on solid ground so they can reel us back in when we are drowning in the enemy’s schemes. We need someone to speak life and truth over us. If you are without a Ruth and going through a difficult season where you NEED a Ruth, reach out to me here or email me at starkeycoaching@gmail.com . šŸ«¶šŸ»

No Weapon Formed Against Us

Every time I hear the scripture “No weapon formed against us shall prosper”, I think of We the Kingdom’s “Don’t Tread on Me.”
That song is such a battle cry. When I’m struggling and feel the enemy trying to really weasel his way into every aspect of my life, my favorite thing is to crank up this song and sing/scream it at the top of my lungs. Guaranteed to feel better each time!
I’d like to break down this verse with y’all and hopefully offer more insight of what it actually means and how we can apply it to our lives.

Isaiah 54:17a “No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you… “

There WILL be weapons. When you became a daughter of the King, you were promised His blessings. It also means you inherit His enemies as well.

Ephesians 6:12 tells us who is behind the weapons: the rulers, authorities and the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. It actually says that our struggle isn’t against flesh and blood BUT against that long list of evilness I just listed.

The enemy will do everything in his power to knock you off the straight and narrow. The devil ain’t after the non-believers, y’all. He is after YOU. Don’t let that scare you. It’s a good thing, because it means you’re ON the right track! James 1:2-3, “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” The enemy is scared of YOU. I know, I can hear you laugh from here. He is afraid of all the goodness you are going to do for the Lord’s kingdom, and the devil is a sore loser.

Forged…some versions say “formed”, but NIV says “forged”. Forged is defined as something that is created, made, shaped. The devil doesn’t attack everyone in the same way. He makes the perfect weapon to try and “neutralize” you against the kingdom of God.

Now, let’s define Prevail…

So yes, while there will be weapons, none of them will be victorious against you.
What a sigh of relief, right?

you will refute every tongue that accuses you… “

Now, on to the second snippet of the scripture… refuting. To refute simply means to disprove (or to prove that someone is wrong).

People can talk ALLLL the want about you; but the truth will ALWAYS be brought to light. (Luke 8:17) It’s just all in God’s timing and sometimes that can frustrate us mere humans so much!

I hope this breakdown helps you to understand this verse better. Soon we will talk about ways to stand firm against that sneaky snake who tries to knock us off course.
